Intention and Gratitude

Day 24 and 25: 31-Day Self-Love Diet Writing Challenge (Submitted January 25, 2017)

Dear Love Warrior Community,

I have been focusing on the prompts and need to write about intention and gratitude instead. Yesterday was my 32nd birthday, and I was filled with mixed emotions. I was blessed to celebrate with two of the people I love most on this earth. My therapist, to whom I have been working with for 11 years who helped me recover from my eating disorder, trauma, and more. She made my afternoon by having a birthday celebration ready in her office. It warmed my heart to be with her in her presence, to feel her love and deep generosity. I pray that all my birthdays are like this as this years truly was the best.

I got to spend the evening watching the movie Hidden Figures with my best friend Natalie. We were inspired by the women who stood before us. I was blessed in this day to be surrounded by strong, loving, and powerful women. Going to dinner and talking about life, gratitude, love, struggle, and growth supported a great birthday–being authentically real. I am grateful for these two in my life and the power that we all have in our culture and the eating disorder field.

I spent a couple hours in nature. It helped my pain levels to bring in the fresh air and move my bones. I am grateful for this beautiful, community-oriented town that I live in. I was filled by interactions with kind-hearted and down to earth people. I got to spend the night receiving love from my dog:) I am truly blessed and need and choose to focus on this in this very moment.

Many blessings and love,
Lindsey
