Music: Firework-Katy Perry
Love Warrior Music: Firework
By Katy Perry
Lyrics:
Do you ever feel like a plastic bag,
drifting through the wind
wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
like a house of cards,
one blow from caving in?
Do you ever feel already buried deep?
6 feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there’s still a chance for you
‘Cause there’s a spark in you
You just gotta ignite, the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July
‘Cause baby you’re a firework
Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth
Make ‘em go “Oh, oh, oh”
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make ‘em go “Oh, oh, oh”
You’re gonna leave ‘em all in awe, awe, awe
You don’t have to feel like a waste of space
You’re original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow
Maybe your reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it’s time, you’ll know
You just gotta ignite, the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July
‘Cause baby you’re a firework
Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth
Make ‘em go “Oh, oh, oh”
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make ‘em go “Oh, Oh, Oh”
You’re gonna leave ‘em all in awe, awe, awe
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It’s always been inside of you, you, you
And now it’s time to let it through-ough-ough
‘Cause baby you’re a firework
Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth
Make ‘em go “Oh, Oh, Oh”
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make ‘em go “Oh, Oh, Oh”
You’re gonna leave ‘em all in awe, awe, awe
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
Sometimes I feel that I am always trying to do everything at once. Grad school applications, school work, internships, work, did I mention work and try and keep a social life? I can see everything I need to do right in front of me, but then I start to doubt how successful I will be in a rushed accomplishment. My fear and doubt cause me to think low about myself and my cabilities. However; I have to stop those feelings in their tracks and maintain a positive attitude of getting things done, and if i don’t it’s ok. I am not a bad person, nor is it the end of the world. It was just simply something I didn’t have time to do. I made this post today because I am a firework, there is a chance for me and I just have to ignite the light and let it shine!
Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind wanting to start again? Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin like a house of cards, one blow from caving in? Do you ever feel already buried deep? 6 feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing? These words ring loud and clear from Katy Perry as she streeses the importance of never letting your light your light go out. Can you share a time where you ever felt that you had the world on your shoulders? How did you stay strong and what was your motivation?

I LOVE THIS POST!!!
Thanks for bringing attention to the difference of receiving a sense of self from who we are instead of what we do.
I can tell we share similar patterns of “doing a lot”. I continue to work on slowing down, centering myself, and practice “being”.
I know my value lies within me, and I also know there’s a part of me that still hangs onto the notion that if I do enough accomplished things, somehow that makes me more important or valuable.
I’ll listen to this song on the site while getting ready for work today. Thanks for reminding me about all the inspirational music on this site!
